I’ve just finished reading the latest essay by Charles Eisenstein called Parallel Times. It is a particularly mind/time-bendy piece and all my cells perked up and began to pay deeper attention than usual as I read it.
Until… by the middle (and then most definitely by the end), they were all in clapping and cheering, doing hand stands, etc all in riotously enthusiastic support of what he was sharing! For real! It’s been a minute since I’ve felt such a full-body ‘yes!’ to something I’m reading. 🙂
You can read the full essay here.
The basic premise of the essay is that there are two (or more) possible timelines existing currently on this Earth as exemplified by ancient sites around the world and the lack of a ‘technological timeline’ that allows for them.
“It is as if two historical timelines present themselves for our consideration. The observer chooses which reality to occupy, and cannot occupy both. Each is inconsistent with the other.”
After an exploration of how this could be, he says:
“Modernized humans, immersed in a Cartesian worldview, typically assume that while there may be many possible futures, there is only one past. The past cannot change. Our information about it may change, but what has happened has happened.
But could it be that the past itself (not only our interpretation of it) changes as we change? Could it be that existence—past, present, or future—is relationship and not an absolute, observer-independent fact?*”
We, as witchy healers, likely already know this to be true. Doing healing work of any kind and especially this work of ancestral healing tends to show the slippery-ness of timelines, the interweaving of past, future, present and how All impacts (and changes) All.
When engaging in healing work, especially healing work involving past (and thus future) generations, time as we know it dissolves – everything is simply ‘now’ and from ‘now’ all is possible, including the complete re-writing of ‘what was’ and of ‘what will be’.
*I love the animistic perspective on existence/time – in that existence/time is something we can be in relationship with vs a fixed thing totally independent of us.
Charles continues:
Maybe the past is right now toggling between two different streams of time, or more than two, corresponding to the fracturing of our present social and political reality.
Perhaps we are moving toward a reality in which history is no longer what the standard narrative has described. If so, we will uncover more and more evidence for the existence of ancient antediluvian civilizations. Is it that that evidence was there all along? Or are we producing it as a function of our own shift into a different world-story?
The part in bold (my emphasis) is the part that got me all lit up. 🙂Â
For, as I see it, we witchy healers are the embodiment of this evidence. Every day I see/feel timelines shifting within me as some previously unseen, unknown, unresolved feeling/emotion/sensation (trauma) is met with love and transformed.
Every day I witness the witchy ones I work with receiving messages and guidance from their well ones and guides that allow for something new (and ancient) to once more be enlivened in the tangible world we live in – healing songs received, rituals requested and performed, prayers offered and answered, power reclaimed, relationships renewed.
For me, the answer to his questions are clear. While the evidence may have been here all along, in this moment, I see each of us producing it as well.
We produce it through nurturing relationships – with our bodies, our selves, the Earth, and Spirit/our well ancestors – that allow for what is both ancient/new to be revealed AND that allow us to bring through these new/ancient technologies into this world through our bodies/daily lives. In this way, WE (our experiences, our lives) are the evidence.
Charles ends with:
More and more miracle technologies are breaking through into the consensus reality that made them impossible (which is why they seem like miracles). As they do so, the consensus unravels and we start to accept them as normal.
As our individual and collective conscious shifts away from the Cartesian aspiration to become the “lords and possessors of nature,” the portal widens and yet more miracle technologies break through from the other timeline.
I’ve been experiencing this acceleration, have you? Is it just that I’ve become more open to things that were already happening? Or is my growing openness, our growing openness, bringing them into existence?Â
I think it is both. The more we accept them, the more real they become. The more real they become, the more we accept them. That is the co-creative process of world-story transition.
I’ll leave you here. Well, I’ll leave you with the link to the full essay again. 🙂
And, I’d love to hear your thoughts. What is sparked in you as you read my words here and/or his complete essay? How are you experiencing (are you experiencing) this shift in timelines? What evidence have you seen or experienced?
much love,
Larisa

Hi Larissa,
How are you?
My name is Mafalda and I just read your post on «Shifting Timelines» when googling about it. I can´t say that I understand it completely, but the part when you write about being possible to change the past, when changing the present made me wonder. There are some choices I made that I regret, and it´s not possible to change them now. So I thought, if I focus now on having a different present/timeline, where I took other decisions, would that change my current reality? Because it involves big decisions, like my job, family, relationships.
Thank you.

The 2 timelines theory is what seems likeliest to me. With flip flops it may give rise to multiple variations. A biworld that gives impression of many worlds.
